COLOSSEUM
ROMAN FORUM AND PALATINE

The Colosseum is one of the most iconic structures of the planet. Built almost 2000 years ago in the heart of Rome.  This tour is focused on the ground floor and first level of this famous amphitheater: your guide will illustrate the engineering marvel of the ancient structure, recreating the days when it was filled with the sounds of roaring animals and crowds and the clashing swords of gladiators. If time permits, you will also be taken to admire the impressive Arch of Constantine.
The Ancient Roman Forum and Imperial Forum is located just to the west of the Colosseum and is the truly ancient city of Rome – the very place where history took place, with processions, criminal trials, elections, and intrigue all happening here. It was the site of the original Senate, and where Caesar’s body was brought following his assassination. The ruins of some of Rome’s most important ancient structures can be found at or near the Forum. You will climb the Palatine, one of the most ancient parts of the city that has been called “the first nucleus of the Roman Empire”. 
 
Additional Information:  Rome has increased Colosseum security which may result in long, unavoidable security check lines. In the case of very long security lines, the guide will illustrate the Colosseum from the outside, allowing clients to enter at their leisure. NO LIQUIDS, GELS, SPRAYS allowed inside the Colosseum.
